28 Jan 10 What Are The Deciding Points For What Are Ethical And Unethical Methods For Search Engine Optimization?

Search engine optimization (also known as seo) includes different elements which generate a whole. At each step there are chances to use ethical or unethical techniques to optimize a site and place it higher up the search engine results, but who makes the decision of what is ethical and what is unethical? Why are any techniques at all regarded as unethical? Is it not just good business logic to use any techniques offered to get the preferred result?

The aims behind optimizing a web site are
• To help users in related to their search
• To give companies the best possibility of obtaining pertinent business
• To give credibility to search engine tools

If a web site is optimized purely to obtain good search engine positioning, then two of the Online Jobs concerning seo may not have succeeded ie aiding users and giving credibility to search engine tools.

In the early days of search engines, optimization was undertaken in this way and it left searchers irritated because the results they got bore no resemblance to their initial request. They would stop using that particular search engine tool, which meant that the Internet Business was not working as well as it could.

In order to win back the Internet Business, search engine companies, such as Google, decided to implement some instructions on how to optimize web pages ethically. This is techniques whereby all three purposes mentioned above are covered equally.

The more refined search engine tools now have filters in place to weed out those web pages which are placed high in the results, but via unethical techniques. Unethical techniques could be such things as having unfitting links to the web site – links which bear no resemblance to the actual web site they link from and can confuse the searcher, or it could be packing key words into the page source, even when those key words are not relevant to the web site they are marketing.

If search engine companies find that a web site is falling foul of these techniques, then they can actually prevent this site from appearing on their search results at all, and once credibility is lost by a company, it is very hard for them to recapture it.

Many of the search engine optimizers, who are undertaking these Online Jobs, Work From Home and are self employed, wanting to make the best possible career for themselves. They will in most cases not deliberately use unethical techniques, it may just be that they have not fully grasped the concepts behind good seo. Because they Work From Home, they may not be in communication with other search engine optimizers who would be able to aid them in optimizing web pages in a more ethical way and so they continue to make the same mistakes.

By keeping the aims mentioned above in their mind at all times, most seo consultants would automatically be creating ethical seo techniques. If a web site is useful to the searcher, gives good appropriate placement to the company and improves confidence in the search engine tool equally, then it has been optimized ethically.
